Q. Why do I have to wait three days for you to begin the credit repair process?

A. Due to unscrupulous companies looking to rob you blind, The Federal Trade Commission has set guidelines for Credit Repair companies. They require a signed contract for services and you must be given a 3 day right of rescission. That means you have 3 days from the date you sign the contract to contact us and tell us you have changed your mind about using our services. Q.  How long does the process take?

A. It depends on your credit situation. If your case is severe, it can take several months. Equifax only allows 11 items to be disputed at one time. Most situations can be resolved in 45 days to 6 months. Regardless of the length of time it takes to finalize the investigation, you will never be charged an additional fee.

Q.  Why does it take so long?

A.  The credit bureaus have 45 days to complete their investigation. Second Chance Credit Repair, Inc will dispute all disputable items, and after the investigation is complete, the Bureaus will mail or email you updated copies of your reports. If there are items to be re-disputed the process begins again, with the credit bureaus having another 45 days to complete the investigation. This cycle continues until all disputable items are updated and/or deleted to reflect correct information.

Q. Under what circumstances can you not help?

A. We can not remove legitimate credit items, like child support, defaulted student loans, etc. We can however, dispute if the amounts are not correct. 

Q.  Why do you allow two payments instead of payment in full?

A. Because we know that people in this situation may not have payment in full and this gives everyone who is able the opportunity to use our services. Yes, it is a form of the honor system!
